Super Sentences |
Writing Projects |
In first grade, we talk a lot about super sentences. Here are the super sentence rules:
1. I see a capital letter at the start of my sentence. 2. I see lowercase letters throughout my sentence. 3. I see punctuation at the end of my sentence. 4. I see spaces between my words. 5. I see sight words spelled correctly. |
Students will actively participate in the writing process every day. Each student will have a Write to Learn journal for free-writing. We will learn how to write letters, personal narratives with correct sequencing, how-to pieces, persuasive writing, and research projects.
Our main focus when writing is to include a topic sentence, three or four detail sentences, and a closing sentence. By the end of first grade, your child should be able to write a full paragraph on any topic. |
