Behavior S.T.A.R.S. In first grade we are Striving for Terrific Attitudes, Responsibility, and Success (STARS)! On the first day of school, the students and I discuss our classroom rules and the behaviors needed for success throughout the school year. Our five classroom rules will be the basis from which they earn positive and negative consequences for their behavior. Classroom behavior will be monitored with a “color chart” in which students move stars when making exceptionally good choices (move up) or when needing redirection from the teacher (move down). Every student begins a new day on green!
Our Class Rules1. Listen when your teacher is talking.
2. Follow directions quickly. 3. Respect others, respect yourself, respect your school. 4. Raise your hand to speak or stand. 5. Be safe. Be kind. Be honest. |
First Grade Fantastic TicketsA calendar will be sent home daily to inform you of your child’s classroom behavior. At the end of each school day, the students will record their color. I ask that parents please view and initial the calendar nightly! By bringing the daily folder back to school with your signature, your child will earn a ticket. When your child ends the day with their star on purple (Super Choices!) he/she will earn one extra ticket. When your child ends the day on pink (Outstanding!), he/she will earn two extra tickets.
Ticket Trade-InEach Friday at the end of the day, students will be able to trade their tickets for small rewards including things like candy, teacher treasure box items, taking shoes off in the classroom, or iPad time.
